SATZ’S OFFICE READS WATCHING BROWARD?

Back on December 22nd I wrote that the “deal” for eight years in jail was just too much for Commissioner Dianna Wasserman Rubin.

So I suggested a different deal…

“Two years of house arrest with the balance on probation if it must be eight years.”

Satz’s office has just offered another deal:

Two years of house arrest followed by eight years of probation.

Sound familiar?

STEFFENS’ MISLEADING AD REVISITED

When I wrote about the misleading campaign ad from Nick Steffens, I mentioned that the Elections Commission was powerless to act on the flyer.

As it turns out, the State of Florida is not.

817.41 Misleading advertising prohibited.—
(1) It shall be unlawful for any person to make or disseminate or cause to be made or disseminated before the general public of the state, or any portion thereof, any misleading advertisement. Such making or dissemination of misleading advertising shall constitute and is hereby declared to be fraudulent and unlawful, designed and intended for obtaining money or property under false pretenses.

It comes from provisions about merchandising, but then what is a campaign?

Merchandising a candidate.

ABBY FREEDMAN MOVES FROM SCHOOL BOARD AT LARGE RACE TO DISTRICT 4 RACE

In the last couple of days Freedman moved from the district wide race to the crowded District 4 race.

I guess she thinks she has a better shot.

Either that, or the idea of running all over the county doesn’t appeal to her.
